Ugh, I haven't been on this blog in ages! I found myself in a situation where my life got too busy and something had to give.
Now that I can officially announce it, the reason I've been so busy is because my business is moving. As some of you know, I work at my mother's ballroom dance studio. We finally announced last week that we're cancelling our current lease and we're moving to another building (literally next door) in July. Because of the move, I had to scramble around and find other venues to rent from for our larger classes and dance events that won't fit into the new space. It was several weeks of craziness! The dust is finally settling, and things are now in motion so I can sit back a little. But, man! It's been a hectic month. A lot of my free time was spent in redesigning the business website (practically from scratch, you can take a look here if you like), and that free time was not a whole lot because, for some reason, my private lesson workload has been steadily increasing to record highs. My bank account now has extra cash lying around (something I'm so not used to!), so what am I going to do? Why, go on vacation of course!
Which leads me to my next announcement: I'm going to Universal Studios!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's right, my hubby and I are staying at the Cabana Bay Resort for 4 days and 5 nights, while enjoying everything else that Universal Studios has to offer, especially including the Harry Potter world!
I can't tell how excited I am to do this! I haven't been to a major theme park since I was five (Six Flags doesn't count since it's so close by), and I've been dying to see Harry Potter world ever since it opened up. The main thing that was holding me back was the fact that Dave never read the Harry Potter books, and it's an expensive trip to do by one's self, but now we have money, and Dave is finishing up Book 5, so we're all set to go!
This is a much-needed vacation, I can tell you that! Both Dave and I have been feeling rather haggard and stressed lately, and the last vacation we can remember taking was the weekend road trip we took for our 1-year anniversary. So we're looking forward to behaving like little children for a few days!
I plan on blogging throughout the trip, so be on the lookout! I leave on Sunday, and come back on Friday, so let's see how many photos I'll take!
See ya!

I am jumping with excitement for you! Harry Potter!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd congratulations with your increase in private lesson hours. It really shows what an awesome dancer and teacher you are :)
By the way, your wedding dance video on your ballroom page made me tear up.
ReplyDeleteAwwww, thanks!
DeleteWow! That's a workload. I'm so glad you're getting to enjoy the rewards, though. I definitely want to see pictures!! Since I currently can't afford to go anywhere (boo) and I'm teaching summer school/going to trainings ALL summer long, I will live vicariously this summer. Have fun!
