It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday again, and I'm not entirely sure where the week went.  Are we seriously almost halfway through January already? Yeesh!

Anyway, it's Monday, and it's time to look back on the week, and see what my goals are for the next 7 days.

Books I Read Last Week:

I have no time to sit down and read a book.  Seriously.  No time.  I was only able to finish one book last week, an audiobook, and this was a required read for a library book discussion group I joined a few months back.  This actually was a really good book and I'm looking forward to the discussion next Tuesday!  If you want to read the review, click here.

Books I'm Working On This Week:

Okay, there is no way I'll be able to finish this book by the end of the week.  It's 1,000 pages long as a hardcover, and over 45 hours as an audiobook.  I'm only 3 hours in, but I'm liking it so far!

I started this for the library book group last month, but I was so busy during the holidays that I couldn't go to the group meeting.  So I didn't finish, but I'm slowly working on it now.  95 pages and it's taking me a whole month to complete.  Ugh.  I need a day off.

Uh, I can explain.  Really, I can.

This book is awful.  Really is.  When I read this 2 years ago, I was disgusted by Christian Grey's dominance, and annoyed by innocent little Anastasia Steele.  I was so irritated by the story that I didn't want to complete the trilogy, so I read the plot summaries for the following two books.

But I have a problem.  A terrible problem, it's verging on OCD really.  Once I start something, I need to finish it, even if it's terrible.  If I don't complete it, my mind will continue to think about it until I finally do finish it.  It sucks and it drives me nuts.

So, despite reading the plot summaries, because I didn't complete the trilogy my mind keeps on coming back to this book, and I keep on wondering how the hell these two characters were able to stay together.  It's like watching a terrible soap: you hate it, but you still want to know what happens next.  And now, I need to go through the trilogy to put my mind at ease.  *Sigh* I have issues.

My Other Goals For This Week:
1. Finish up my book favorites page- almost done!
2. Update my book timeline- there are dozens of books that I never wrote reviews for, but I still want to mark that I read them on this blog
3. Update my book journal- the best way to keep track of books I need to read next.
4. Read the illustrated edition of Harry Potter 1- I got it for Christmas, and I sooo want to snuggle up with my kitty and read this!

Somewhere along the way this week, I need to also take down my Christmas Tree (yes, it's still up), clean up the rest of my apartment (ugh), and try to complete my Fitbit goals this week (c'mon girl, you can do it!).  So, here's to what's going to be one hell of a week!

Have a good day everyone!  Happy reading!
